
Gurrambalk Accommodation
Gurrambalk Accommodation offers comfortable accommodation for service providers and people working in Gapuwiyak.
We provide short and longer term accommodation for service providers. We also provide intercultural advice and support, and may be able to provide work and meeting spaces, and transport services. Gurrambalk is the traditional Yolŋu shelter depicted in our accommodation logo.
Other visitors – Unfortunately we are not able to provide overnight accommodation or camping facilities for recreational visitors.
Permits – All workers and visitors to Arnhem Land must obtain a permit from the NLC. Recreational visitors require an additional permit to leave the Central Arnhem Road and drive to Gapuwiyak.
WHARF CAMP SITE - Lot 172 (9 Wagilak Street)
3 single accommodation units – Air-conditioned, king single bed, bar fridge, desk and ensuite
2 double accommodation units – Air-conditioned, double bed, kitchenette, bar fridge, desk and ensuite
Linen – A pillow, linen, towel and bathmat are provided
Shared kitchen and laundry – Small fully equipped kitchen with a stove, microwave, fridge and freezer. Laundry with washing machine, dryer, additional shower and toilet.
Outdoor undercover living area – A large paved, covered outdoor space with fans, tables and chairs
Grounds, parking and security – Pleasant grounds, guest parking, high fencing and lockable gates for security
Wifi and TV – No wifi or TV provided
Smoking or vaping – Tobacco products only in designated outside areas away from the shared undercover area, verandas and units
TOP CAMP SITE - Lot 203 (Goŋ-Ḏäl Office area)
15 single accommodation units – Air-conditioned, king single bed, bar fridge, desk and ensuite
Linen – A pillow, linen, towel and bathmat are provided
Shared kitchen and laundry – Large fully equipped kitchen with 2 stoves, microwaves, fridges and freezers. Laundry with washing machine and dryer.
Outdoor undercover living areas – A covered outdoor space with fans, tables and chairs, and a separate smoking area
Grounds, parking and security – Pleasant grounds, guest parking, high fencing and lockable gates for security
Wifi and TV – No wifi. TV in room but not connected
Smoking or vaping – Tobacco products only in designated outside areas away from the shared undercover area, deck area and units
BOOKINGS
All bookings are accepted on the basis that guests have read, understood and agree to abide by our Terms and Conditions and to act in accordance with Gapuwiyak and Yolŋu Cultural Protocols. Please download a copy of these below.
To make a booking, send an email to accommodation@gongdal.com.au or phone 0499 014 062 and speak to our Accommodation Manager.
We will then email you a booking confirmation with a request for credit card authorisation, purchase order or chargeback, and important information and instructions for guests.
Bookings can only be secured with a credit card authorisation, purchase order or chargeback.

Gapuwiyak and Yolŋu Cultural Protocols
CONDUCTING BUSINESS
If you wish to conduct business on site that involves community members, please know this when you make your booking and complete a Conducting Business Form. You must have your own Public Liability insurance and provide us with a copy of this.
PAYMENT
After your stay we will take payment from your credit card or email you an invoice for payment. Full payment is required within 7 days. Please include our invoice number in the EFT transaction reference field, and email us a Remittance Advice so we can confirm your payment.
CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT
Check in time for all bookings is from 2:00 pm. If you wish to check in earlier than 2:00 pm, please let us know your preferred arrival time when you book or contact us at least 48 hours prior to your arrival. We are unable to guarantee an early check in unless you have booked an additional night to accommodate for this.
Check-out time for all bookings is 12:00 pm. We can securely store your belongings before or after these times if you need. Late departures past 12:00 pm may incur a fee based on the time of exit unless agreed with GDAC prior to check-out.
CANCELLATION POLICY
For bookings 1 - 7 days
Cancel up to 3 days prior – no charge.
Cancel up to 2 days prior – 1-night cancellation fee.
Cancel within 2 days of arrival – full payment required.
For bookings 8 days or rmore
Cancel up to 21 days prior – no charge
Cancel up to 14 days prior – 50% of booking charge
Cancel within 2 days of arrival – full payment required
For take or pay bookings
If we can fill the room, no charge
Otherwise, cancellation policy applies as above
LIABILITY FOR GUEST LOSS AND DAMAGE
All Gapuwiyak businesses have credit/debit card facilities and we recommend against bringing large sums of cash onto accommodation premises.
In accordance with section 6 of the Accommodation Providers Act 1981 (NT) and as advised by our signage on site, our liability for any theft or damage of your property is limited to 750 "monetary units".
