  • IPA Coordinator 0.5 FTE.

The coordinator positions are based in Gapuwiyak and work across approx. 350,000 ha on the western side of Arnhem Bay known as the Western Miyarrka area. This area includes diverse bush, freshwater, coastal and sea habitats and several Homeland communities, and significant sites and areas.

We are looking for positive, motivating leaders who can use a ground-up, both-ways approach to manage and develop our Indigenous ranger team across a number of Homeland communities. You will work closely with Traditional Owners who form the Western Miyarrka Cultural Authority for our new Western Miyarrka IPA and Mutjung Rangers, as well as Gong-Dal Aboriginal Corporation and CDP management.

Ranger Development Coordinator - 1.0 FTE

A main objective of the role is to supervise and develop our small ranger team working across several homeland communities and land and sea country. A key focus will be on supporting the growth of Mutjung Ranger team from a CDP-funded ranger program into a strong Indigenous Ranger Program.

Women’s Ranger Development Coordinator - 0.5 FTE

The purpose of the Mutjung Women’s Ranger Coordinator is to place a particular emphasis on supporting and supervising the development of our women rangers, ensure the inclusion of women’s cultural knowledge and work across all projects. The women of our community have expressed their aspirations to work along side the men and do similar work unless there are cultural reasons that it’s women’s or men’s only work or locations.

IPA Coordinator - 0.5 FTE

The focus for this role is to provide advice, coordinate and oversee the development of our new Western Miyarrka IPA. This role will place a strong emphasis on strategic planning and cultural guidance and foundation to adapting the existing healthy country plan and monitoring and evaluation framework and fostering a high level of engagement with Waṯaŋu Mala and consultants to complete the consultation phase for developing the IPA. This position will play a key role in project management overseeing IPA funding and acquittals as well as seeking alternative funding sources.

Accommodation

We can provide furnished shared accommodation consisting of a 2-bedroom house (donga style) with a large, partly enclosed veranda and large fenced garden, which is a short walk to the lake, ranger office and airstrip. Due to housing constraints, we are hoping to engage at least two people who can deliver the requirements of these three roles in whichever combination that works.
